By offering interdisciplinary studies major at ASU, it allows students to go into a wide range of fields by combining two concentrations into one major.  This allows for a more specialized major where students can pursue a career they are passionate about.  It was very easy for me to choose an interdisciplinary studies degree.  I was given the chance to incorporate my love for restaurants and the rest of the tourism industry, with my interest in design and more innovative thinking. 

I really enjoy meeting new people on an everyday basis and love the exciting atmosphere of restaurants and nightlife.  I have aspirations to own my own restaurant and use my education in design and tourism to create a unique atmosphere that will appeal to a large demographic.  I understand that I need to learn the market and associate it to what I have gained in my interdisciplinary studies courses and my managing experience to be successful as a restaurant owner.
