Interdisciplinary Studies

My concentration areas: Tourism and Design Studies

Tourism:  When having a concentration in tourism you focus on a wide range of markets from a local level to an international level.  Looking into the local culture and the flow of inbound tourists, excursionists, and day trippers and seeing the economic impact is very exciting and encouraging.  I had a chance to look into how the international markets rely on the effects of tourism as well as gained a more realistic view on country to country relations.

Design Studies: This concentration showed me different aspects of design from graphic, industrial, and interior. Getting hands on experience with studio time and creating my own projects really taught me time management and putting meaning into your projects. Learning the history of design in the United States as well as many other countries globally, I will be able to incorporate good design techniques into my business.
