Core Courses

Foundations of Interdisciplinary Studies:

In this class we were able to look at interdisciplinary studies from a broad view and learn of what it can help you accomplish.  We spent a lot of time defining the terms and setting up ways to help better understand how we can begin incorporating our two concentrations.

Interdisciplinary Inquiry and Research Methods:

This class was important in helping us research our concentrations and make hypothesis and conduct surveys.  This was an interesting class and it was helpful in developing effective techniques.  This class was great for enforcing outside learning and out of the box thinking.

Applied Internship:

I chose to do an internship at Spark magazine that incorporated both my design concentration and my tourism concentration.  I was able to help promote the city of Tempe by elaborating on the positive influence of ASU and its athletes.  I have also had a chance to shadow and watch designers and have a hand in page layouts and content.

Money and Meaning Senior Seminar:

In this class we investigate money and value in order to develop a healthy view on life and healthy priorities.  We are studying financial responsibility and making a positive social contribution.  This class has been very interesting in that it showed me different perspectives on everyday habits and norms.  It has helped me and my overall life organization.
